Mark Bick - Project Leader
Mark is a musician, music teacher and youth worker with an extensive track record of successful project management and community development over 20 years.
Mark was born in the Forest of Dean and went to Westbury-on-Severn primary school. His family moved to the other side of Gloucestershire when he was 11 and he went to Rednock school, Dursley. He completed a Music Degree and teacher training in Cardiff.
From 1984 he worked with unemployed young people at City Centre Youth Project, Cardiff, pioneering a music access programme which became a model for other projects. He was the first worker for Community Music Wales, leading and developing the organisation through 3 years of rapid growth.
He then moved back to Newent at the north of the Forest of Dean and worked freelance including working as a lead artist for Artshape (Gloucester), a tutor for Drake Music Project, teaching A level Music Technology and work for the Arts Council of Wales including helping set up Arts Training Wales.
Mark set up and has managed Music Makers for the last six years and runs training programmes for Sound it Out and MusicLeader West Midlands.
Mark plays guitar and bass in Beyond the Blue, who perform a laid back mixture of Jazz, Folk and Blues.

Lee Brownson - SoundSpace Manager
Lee has years of experience of gigging, recording and promoting gigs. He is one of the leading people behind the very succesful “Acoustic Night Live” www.myspace.com/acousticnightlive

Yvette Farrell - Administrator

Yvette was born in London and has lived throughout the UK until settling near Newent. She has worked extensively as a leading manager in project management, sales and training since leaving college in 1986. Her work experience includes delivering flowers (never red ones) to Mrs Thatcher at 10 Downing Street. Yvette originally trained in horticulture, has a great interest in organic food, having run her own shop and café for 3 years. Yvette owns and runs a catering trailer, at music festivals, called Pink Ladies Kitchen. She is a keen musician and has played trumpet and recorder since childhood.

Tom Sandall - Tutor

Tom came to our very first workshop as a participant. Played drums in “Blindsight”, Plays bass, guitar and banjo. He completed a degree in Music Industry Management at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College. He is currently gigging regularly with the The Stone Saloon band and with his own Bluegrass band as well as working at Gloscol.
Dan James - Tutor

Dan is lead tutor for the SoundSpace primary after school sessions. He has been involved in Music Makers for over 7 years, starting off taking part in the workshops. He has been playing drums for 8 years and guitar for 4. Also experienced in song writing and performance. He has a diploma in music technology and does most of the recording at SoundSpace.
Tim Coleman
Tim is a specialist session drummer, has played with various local bands and is currently playing in a jazz-fusion group. He is drum Tutor at SoundSpace. Tim also teaches drums for Gloucestershire Music Service as well as giving private tuition.
Jason Jervis
Jason is the Lead Tutor at Whitecross lunchtime & after school clubs. He is a Mac computer music expert, writes film music, plays guitar, sings, does voice over work. He plays session guitar for Roni Size and other Drum’n'Bass artists in Bristol, does front of house sound for SERENADE (a 16 piece swing big band), recently toured the states as guitar technician for Steve Winwood and did stage sound at a gig for Eric Clapton .
Andy Ferris
Lead tutor for Heywood secondary after school sessions and leading various other activities. Andy sings, plays guitar and uses music technology. His background includes solo and band peformance, songwriting, club management and busking around Europe.
Paul Catten
Former lead singer with various metal bands, tour driver, tour manager, keyboard player, music technician and drummer. Paul is nearing completion of an OU music degree and works for music makers mostly as a mentor and one to one tutor.
John Kendall
John is a DJ tutor and youth worker with a degree in Music Systems Engineering from UWE Bristol. Runs DJ sessions for Music Makers. He also runs sessions at Sedbury Youth Project, Coleford Youth Centre and teaches DJing in a number of Bristol schools.
George Kendall
A drummer, keyboard player, studied music technology at Royal Forest of Dean College. He has just finished a degree Creative Music Technology at University in Bristol and currently leads theThursday after school club at SoundSpace.
